The Richard Morrison Interview

In today's lesson, we watched the interview of Richard Morrison on 'Forget the Film, Watch the Titles'.  We also had to watch one film opening and analyse the order and rules of the titles of the film.

Richard Morrison Interview

Below is the interview itself and i have also made a few notes of what i learnt about film titles from this interview.

The first thing I have learnt about film titles is that you shouldn't over complicate things, just keep it simple but effective.  An example of this which was said in the interview was that Ridley Scott created the first alien film just by saying three words, which were 'Jaws in space' and that got him the film.  Richard himself said that he believes after you have got past the story board level you should make a model of what you want to do, as it makes it more realistic and relate-able, as well as engaging you to the film itself.
Richard claims that when a he is working on a new project, the main thing he focuses on in the meantime is to not think about it and some ideas will eventually sub-consciously come to him.
