Evaluation - Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Below is a video of Alicia who described what we have learnt from the preliminary task to our final
product.

Alicia was not in my preliminary task, however the things Alicia said related to myself as well.
I believe, personally i have learnt to edit on premiere much better than i could during the prelim task, this is just due to the practice i have had.  Not only this, but i think that i overall have become a more dedicated, hard working media student.  This is because with the prelim task we had to get a lot of tasks due in a short period of time, therefore i would constantly be working on media to the best of my ability.  This has taught me that i do need to keep on top of my work and that it shows that hard work will eventually pay off.  Another thing i have learnt from the prelim is a number of different camera shots, angles, frames and tiny specific details which represent and symbolize many different things.  This has taught me to next time really think about my shots in a deeper meaning as other people will analyse my shots from my short films and they will then be able to relate to the message i will initially be trying to spread.  With the final product, I have learnt that planning a short film like our film opening has to have a lot of time spent on it and thoroughly thought through.  This has become evident to me as when we were filming the film opening we needed all of our storyboard notes in full detail include the type of shot and the timing of the shot, the setting, lighting and many more details that we all needed on set.  This is because media is a time consuming subject especially when it comes to filming, therefore everything needs to be planned and completed before filming as this will make us more organised and the filming will be done quicker but not rushed.
