Evaluation - Question 3

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The research we done to find the right institution we found not that difficult, we knew that we wanted to use a UK based production company as we thought that would be the way to hit our target audience. We did look at the other ones such as universal and Lionsgate but we thought they would be to spread across the world and we didn't think our film would be big enough to begin with. So we went with a UK based company and we ended up using film 4 as our production company.

The production company we chose was film 4, the reason we chose them is because they are a well-known company. The reason the choice of Production Company is important is because it determines what kind of audience the film will branch out to. Film 4 is mainly a UK based company which means that our film would be mainly a UK attraction, it would be hard for it to reach an international audience such as in America. However, if the film did do well in the UK and became a big hit, it could then spread through to the international film scene. For the best means of distributing your product, I think to earn the most money we would need to put it in cinema, but as its only a small film it would probably been shown on TV, on the film 4 channel and from then it will try to produce as much money as possible.

The research sources that we used were:
www.imdb.com

The logo we used was the film 4 logo and then we created one of our own for our own production company. The one we created was the following

CETA Productions is the other production company that we have created on our own. It will be a small UK production company that will focus on trying to make it big in the UK. It will be similar to film 4 in the fact that it will play mainly UK based films and will hopefully be a large institution in the future. If it is successful in the UK it could branch out and start playing international films and try and produce some of the other international films.
